Heading, navbar, search and footer
In short
Set the title at the top, your own navbar and footer, and a search bar for your customers.
Result
A catalogue that carries your own name, logo and contact details.
Before you start
- You have a catalogue open in the builder. Work in the builder
Set your catalogue heading
The heading is the big title at the top of your catalogue. It is required before you can publish, and it is edited straight on the page rather than in a panel.
Select the heading in the builder
On a new catalogue it reads + Add Heading. A small toolbar appears above it.
Type your title
The toolbar offers Bold, Italic and a Heading size of Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large. New catalogues use Large.
A heading is capped at 100 characters
That is 100 characters of text you can see. Going over does not cut the text off, it removes your bold and italic instead, so keep it short.
The navbar
Everything here is in the Header tab of the editor panel.

Customize header
Your settings below are used for the header.
Floating navbar
The header floats above the catalogue and stays at the top while visitors scroll.
How see-through it is comes from Appearance › Glass effect. On phones the icons and button move into a menu.

Show a phone icon in the header.
Show an email icon in the header.
- Point 1: 1Four icon-over-label tabs; the active one is an amber tint with an amber border, not a solid fill.
- Point 2: 2The master switch. Off, the header stays default and the three cards below dim to half strength.
- Point 3: 3A grey-beige note points to Appearance › Glass effect, with a shortcut that jumps there.
- Point 4: 4Logo size and corner rounding, both inert until a logo has been uploaded.
- Point 5: 5Switching the header action link on reveals these two fields; switching it off removes them entirely.
- Point 6: 6Phone and email icons in the header, each a labelled row with a hint and a switch.
Customize header
Default: OffBasic and upOff, your catalogue shows the Quicktalog navbar. On, it shows yours, with your logo and your own button.
Floating navbar
Keeps the navbar above the catalogue and visible while customers scroll, rather than letting it scroll away.
Logo width
20 to 300pxHow wide your logo is in the navbar. It stops growing once it reaches the height of the bar, so very wide logos simply fill the space. Upload the logo itself under Logo in the General tab.
Header action link
Adds a button to the navbar, for booking or calling. Nothing appears until you fill in a link. Leaving Button label empty shows Learn more.
The search bar
A search bar under your heading, so customers can find an item by typing part of its name. It is off until you switch it on, and it is in the General tab under Search.
Show search bar
Default: OffOn every plan, including the free one. When it is on, typing filters the items as the customer types, opens any section with a match and hides sections with none.
Placeholder text
OptionalMax 40 charactersThe grey words in the empty bar. Left empty it reads Search items….
Worth switching on for a long menu
Searching looks at item names and descriptions, ignores accents and capitals, and needs all the words typed to match. On a catalogue with a handful of items it adds little.
The footer
In the Footer tab. With your own footer switched on, Quicktalog builds it only from what you fill in, so an empty field means no column rather than an empty one.
Customize footer
Default: OffBasic and upOff, customers see the Quicktalog footer. On, they see yours.
Legal business name
OptionalUsed in the copyright line at the bottom, and in place of your logo if you have not uploaded one. Without it the line reads Your Company.
Footer tagline
OptionalMax 120 charactersOne line under your logo. A live counter shows how much is left.
Business address
OptionalShown in the company column.
Terms & conditions link
OptionalAppears in the bottom bar beside the copyright.
Privacy policy link
OptionalAlso in the bottom bar.
Footer action link
OptionalA button in the footer. As with the header one, nothing appears until there is a link. The placeholders suggest Contact Us.
Add a profile link
OptionalUp to 5Your social media profiles. Quicktalog fetches each site's icon for you.
Show partners
OptionalDefault: OffUp to 3A row of partners, each with a name, a link and a description.
Newsletter
Default: OffGrowth and upAdds a sign up form to the footer. Anyone who signs up appears in the Newsletter Subscribers table on your dashboard, which you can export as a CSV file.
Good to know
- Your logo, your contact details and how your catalogue appears in search results all live in the General tab, not the header or footer tabs.
- Your own navbar and footer need a Basic plan or higher. On the free plan the Quicktalog ones are shown.
- Dropping to a smaller plan switches your own navbar and footer back to the Quicktalog ones.
- Corner radius under Appearance shapes the navbar and the search bar too. Setting it to 0 makes both square.
